Steve Hamilton

Tour Guide

Steve Hamilton has been chasing storms since he was a kid, and professionally with Silver Lining Tours since 2005. He’s a recent graduate of the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University and his specialty is local severe weather forecasting. Steve has experienced over 20 tornadoes and two hurricanes. Tornadoes and severe thunderstorms are his passions, and he says chasing with Roger Hill and Silver Lining has been the best weather experience of his life.

Steve is also a forecaster and producer at KMGH-TV in Denver, where he prepares weekend forecasts and graphics for the on-air meteorologists. Since he first ventured out to chase a thunderstorm and tornado near Denver in 1988, he’s been hooked on severe weather. His first SLT experience was on Tour 6 in 2005, which included a tornado, a giant hailstorm and a haboob.

“My number one priority is safety. That’s why I love to chase with Roger and SLT. Roger’s incredible amount of experience allows us to get up close and personal with the best that nature has to offer, without risking the safety of our passengers and crew. If I had to pick one thing that I would do 24/7/365, it would be chasing storms and capturing their beauty.”

Steve has been forecasting professionally with KMGH since 2005. His full-time job is Operations Manager at KKHI-FM Radio in Denver.

Status for 2009: Guide for the Great Plains Lecture Tour and Tour #5.
